An almost full coach with just over half joining me for the much anticipated climb of Criffel 
We were blessed with fine weather and the recent run of dry days last week made the going underfoot much pleasanter. We had a close up encounter with a pair of Cuckoos on the climb up to Knochendochen and an even closer one with a herd of young heifers on the way down.
The only downside to a fine day was that distant views were a little bit hazy.
Refreshments were taken at the tea room and local pub in New Abbey 
All in all a memorable day and hopefully with more full coaches to come over the summer
