I ever there was a day of two halves then this was it. 
Eleven members in full wets from the car park set off up Whin Ben (didn't even discuss the wimps option of the Lakeside walks) . At Whiteside we were in cloud, rain and wind - now and then we had a break to tease us as to the views we were missing. Lunch was supposed to be on Hopegill Hd but we didn't fancy soggy sandwiches there so we dropped down to Coledale Hause and had them there instead? Starting off from there we noticed a slight change in the sky over the Solway and within about half an hour the afternoon was as good as it gets on the high fells with crystal clear views and eleven walkers happily shedding clothes and getting phone cameras working. This slowed the pace as we all enjoyed the fantastic surroundings to end an excellent day all round. Thanks for the great company to one and all
