We were blessed with a beautiful spring day. 19 of us set off along the river, through Parson’s wood. After crossing the river we made our way to Hesket Newmarket. Following a variety of fields, farm tracks and moorland we passed through the hamlets of Nether Row, Pott’s Gill, and Fellside. We stopped for lunch in a sunny spot on the way. The way the descended through Welpo and along the river, past the Howk mil,l back to Caldbeck where we had refreshments in the Priests Mill café. Many thanks to all who came, especially Ken who did an excellent job of back marker.
