Judy's Report
“Six of us alighted from the 685 bus at Hayton Lane end to join a few others waiting in the car park. Once I spotted Ken and Ann I knew that I had one less thing to worry about. Ken’s clever - he can count and willingly back marks. The weather was fair to middling but very humid. The conversation and banter was great, the pace leisurely and a good few ‘Did you Knows’.
My one gripe is to those Members who don’t like mud. If a bit of mud on you walking boots offends please go to Rickerby Park. If you CHOOSE to come with me and we encounter a bit of mud PLEASE don’t try to hijack my walk. For goodness sake. We walk in the countryside at low level, water flows downhill. It rains in Cumbria. It creates mud. It’s not rocket science.

Sue's Report
Team of 4 other intrepid ladies very pleased not to be attempting the heights in terrible wind and rain but enjoying the woods up to the base of Castle Crag and the down to Rosthwaite, so flooded that we could not get on to the lower path but had to come back by road and then by the Bowderstone!
Could try again on Wed, Sept 16th (after schools are back) or Wed 23rd. Could also do Kings Howe area from Bowderstone Carpark on Sept 30th or Oct 14th. Not sure what is happening with arranging walks and dates at present.
Away for 2 weeks now.
