Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

11 walkers enjoyed a great walk in wonderful surroundings and great weather albeit a bit warm until we approached the open fell where a cool breeze welcomed us to stop for lunch and 'cool down'. The first part was at valley level for about 3 mls then there followed a gradual climb onto Lingmoor top where the views of the surrounding high fells and valleys was glorious all day - the forecast rain stayed away. Negotiating the 'Fat mans Squeeze' on Side Pike created a bit of amusement but we made it through!! After that the drop down to Blea Tarn was followed by a pleasant stroll along it's shore back to the cars. Welcome refreshments were enjoyed at the New Dungeon Ghyll. Thanks to all who enjoyed the day.
