Walk & Event Reports

Well ten of us turned out yesterday despite the dire weather forecasts of rain and strong winds.  We all arrived at the start of the walk at 10.00am, we did have a discussion about what we would do if the weather was as forecast because it was ok then. Very  cloudy but not wet. However after about an hour the wind was getting very strong and gusty so it was decided that we would give walking over the top of the fdown but it was a lovely walk. We had lunch in the scant  remains of Wythop churcell a miss, instead we walked round the fell, still had a few slopes to get up and h surrounded by lovely autumn colours but getting very blown about.  By the time we were returning to the cars it was beginning to rain, very heavily.   So, had to be done, off we set off  and called in at the Craggs cafĂ© for tea and cake and a good crack
