Walk & Event Reports

Six brave souls sloughed through the mud, which thoroughly lived up to its promise in ubiquitous locations, depth and liquidity. The sun came out for us although there was a sometimes biting wind and the river sparkled and churned over rocks or was mostly calm and unruffled. We marvelled at the flood alleviation techniques at the new CNDR bridge and were suitably underwhelmed by what a signboard in Stainton had promised would be a Jacobite earthwork dating to 1746. It was a good day and lovely to see each other and have a chat again.
