Jo's Report

Two cars and 10 people set off from the Sands in Carlisle for Borrowdale, and two cars made the meeting point in Grange but only 7 people set off on Sue's walk up from Grange making for Maiden Moor. Obviously the maths doesn't add up here! Only one of the original two cars made it to the start of the walk, however, despite the mix up it is good to know they had an interesting walk around Derwentwater!

Quite a steep ascent, but up a path many of us were not familiar with. Great views and the heather is in its prime: stunning. Unfortunately the views didn't last as the weather closed in on as as we reached the ridge. However undaunted we carried on towards Cat Bells, before descending once more down into Borrowdale.
Many thanks to Sue for a great, if rather wet walk!

Folowing an initial confusion at Grange five of us set off around Derwentwater. We made our way along the lake to Derwent bank and then returned to Lingholm where we had a well deserved cup of tea.We then made our way back in the rain to the cars in Borrowdale.A pleasant if rather wet walk.
