Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

14 stalwarts met at Penrith Bus Station and car park where parking is Free until end of December .  We headed out of town towards the pedestrian crossing on the A585 then down towards the A66 underpass.   Over the Eamont, where on the right bank is Brougham Castle, for a detour to the left to see Lady Clifford’s Pillar which is at the side of the A66.   Retraced our steps and then headed to Brougham Hall.   The following photos describe it best.   A place of interest, History and atmosphere.

Back to Penrith making a sharp right turn just over Eamont Bridge to take a field path following the river, behind the Police station, to arrive at the underpass and retrace our steps back to the Bus Station.   Thanks to everyone who came along.   You make it all worthwhile.
In the absence of Ken who is on the Club Holiday, my grateful thanks to Tom for back marking.
It’s great having such support.
