Walk & Event Reports

Well done to the 17, or was it 19, who joined me at Stapleton Village Hall today.  Welcome to The Debateable Land.  Lovely to see Ann and Ken.  And hoorah, I had a Back Marker.

The rope bridge is just such fun and we crossed  it twice.  A great amble across fields, along little known roads, passed remote farms.    After a leisurely lunch stop beside the Black Lyne bridge we headed onward only to bump into to Sue and Ann.  Lucky to meet them but probably not as lucky as they felt on bumping into us.  So we came back with either 19 or 21.  Ken knows.

The Pink Pool was interesting.  No Geologists amongst us to explain why the rock in this particular stretch of the Lyne is pink.    Few tricky bits of river bank and rickety stiles to negotiate, through ancient woodland with an abundance of wild flowers until we reached the swing bridge and then Stapleton Village Hall.

Thanks so much all of you for the chat and laughter and for being such good sports when I played a trick on you and beat you with my big stick!

Judy xx
