Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

.

A morning that began chilly and overcast soon improved:  the sun drove
away the clouds as 20 of us set out on the promised gentle stroll up the
lovely River Annan to Brydekirk.  We enjoyed blue skies for the rest of
the day.  It was a peaceful walk, with only a few encounters with
well-behaved humans, canines and equines.  Wildlife was limited to
mallard (mainly drakes, with a few females and ducklings) and (who knows
how many?) grey herons.
No-one seemed too upset by the early lunch stop, which kept us going
until the end-of-walk refreshments at the Corner House.
Many thanks to you all for coming, and to Anne for backmarking.
Apologies on their behalf, Judith, for the traditional greetings to your
car from the Annan gulls!
