Eighteen walkers gathered at Kilngreen Car Park with Judy and Sue having braved the bus up to Langholm. There was drama first with a sheep wagon picking up a trailer also containing sheep with a car parked very near the trailer. However it was successfully resolved by local bus driver Brian directing operations.
We took a quiet route out of town before passing the Becks Farm where we were advised to remember to shut gates by Fred on his quad bike. The farm has recently had a lot of trouble with gates being left open apparently. We climbed gradually up to the ridge and enjoyed great views in all directions. Lunch was eaten before we changed direction heading east over somewhat boggy ground to the heights of Timpen or Mid Hill(327ft). Then it was an easy descent back to the car park where we observed the setting up of testing for Covid tomorrow and also Pelosi’s ice cream van. Thanks to all for coming and observing rules and regulations.
