Not a lot to say about the dreary, wet and windy weather on Wednesday. Against all odds, 12 of us turned out to walk back to “Cherrie Mansion” from The Sands. We did spot a Small White Egret along the way, so some sort of bonus.
On our arrival we were greeted by Chris Fortune and Linda Nichol who had kindly “volunteered” to heat up the soup. Chris and Linda helped us off with our wet clothing and then handed around hot soup and other savory and sweet contributions.
When I counted up later what had been donated I was amazed to find it amounted to £160. I shall hand it to Eden Valley Hospice on Saturday.
Thank you all so very much and thanks for your company. A great Team effort. My very best wishes to everyone for Christmas and for 2024.”
