ARTHURS PIKE. 6 Miles.

17 of us left Roe Head and took the longish crag side path overlooking the Lake. Not that you could see Ullswater for the splendid cloud inversion below us. A glorious mornings walk in perfect winter conditions. Great views all the way and bright blue clear sky. A good stop at the cairn above Whinny Crag for coffee, tea, mince pies and some more festive refreshment before the short stretch to the summit of Arthurs Pike. Then down all the way via the Cockpitt Stone Circle and onto the cars. Pretty much a perfect morning Hike. Merry Christmas to you all and hopefully see you on the 2.1.2022.

.

18 of us had a lovely Xmas lunch at the Queens Head
Yet again, at the end of the meal the landlord informed me that
only 17 had been paid for.
I have no idea if this was an error by the landlord or an error by
one of the group.
The only thing I know is, it made it an expensive day out for me
