Loch Maben

10 of us made it to Lochmaben and fortunately the blanketed overcast sky resisted parting with any rain.

While we avoided cows we did come under attack from hissing swans with cygnets which at close quarters are much bigger than you think -fortunately they were nae bother to Ken.

We had lunch and Annes’ Birthday chocolates on the shore of Castle Loch next to the castle and then made our way back along the loch shore to Lochmaben for coffee and cakes.

The walk was a new unfamiliar route enjoyed by all – but it turned out to be closer to 8 miles than 6 !!
