Sale Fell

There was a good turnout yesterday, despite the dark clouds and slightly worrying weather forecast.  Twenty three ramblers set off and managed to rendezvous near the Pheasant Inn at Bassenthwaite, there was a slight shower of rain after we set off, but  it didn’t last and it stayed dry for the rest of  the day.  We even had a glimmer or two of sunshine!  The views are spectacular from Sale fell and we all enjoyed the walk, even though there was a strong wind buffeting us as we walked along.   We managed to find a sheltered spot for lunch and after that we were mainly out of the wind going back down and round the fell.  Tea/coffee, warm freshly baked  scones and a good crack in the Pheasant rounded off the day nicely.
