The weather gods were kind to us, and 18 set off towards Williestruther
Loch on a perfect walking day.  Congratulations to those from south of
the border who were brave enough to venture into our wild and mysterious
northern land!  A steady climb led our extremely well-behaved group to
our perfect lunch spot by the loch without incident.  Crossing the golf
course on our return to town we were lucky enough to meet retired
teacher and renowned speaker of the Scots Border Tongue, Ian Landles,
who was good enough to interrupt his round to confirm that the correct
pronunciation of our lunch spot is 'Wulliestruther".

Many thanks to you all for being such a good group, to Anne and her
various helpers for backmarking and to the lovely staff of the Heart of
Hawick cafe for coping so ably with such a sudden influx of customers!

Cheers

Ken
