Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

There was either a Dozen or a Bakers Dozen assembled at the Sands at 10.30 despite  the dire weather warnings from the Met Office.  I set off at rather too quick a pace, sorry about that.   Then I was so engrossed talking I got lost over Stony Holme Golf Course!    Thanks for putting me right Troops.   We crossed Warwick Road and made our way through Melbourne Park, admiring the flood defences en route.   We crossed over the Petteril, walked passed the Crown Factory into  Botcherby turning right and joining the Durranhill Road.     Under Eastern way, passing the entrance to Cherrie Mansion, and then turned right.  Under  two railway arches into Keenan Park and the TEEN shelter - where we promptly began acting like teenagers!

Thanks to everyone who supported today.   We raised £140 for the Eden Valley Hospice.   The weather wasn’t as bad as forecast.   The sun actually made a glimmer of an appearance but sadly not strong enough to top us up Vitamin D.   It’s the wrong sort of sun at the wrong time of year, apparently.

See you all soon.  Here’s to 2021 and Freedom.

Love Judy
