Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

.

We started out on a very still day with 14 of us. First, we walked down the road to the Campfield Marsh, RSPB reserve. The way through the marsh is well maintained and reasonably dry underfoot. We stopped for lunch in the barn at Rogersceugh. Unfortunately, the fine view was mostly hidden in cloud. The minute we left the barn it started to rain and we had a very wet track to follow. After about a mile we were back on the broadwalk in Glasson Moss, from there we returned to Bowness with stops at the viewing tower and the Methodist church in Port Carlisle. The Kings Arms opened early for us where we had refreshments in front of a lovely open fire.

Many thanks to all those who came

Andy
