Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

Some of us arrived  on the 685 bus and some came by car. It was great to see a few friends I haven’t seen for many weeks.   We had a lovely ramble through our lovely countryside.   Lunch at Talkin Tarn.   As we had to follow the “One Way” system  we were scattered along the various seats surrounding the Tarn so mustered by the Bird Observatory at  1.15.On approaching Brampton Station we espied a very pretty Rose growing ‘sort’ of wild.  Suddenly we all wanted to be Monty Donn and have cuttings so we could propagate this lovely flower in our own gardens.

Low and behold - Ken produced a pair of secateurs.

To finish on a high note and the promise of the situation getting better, sitting in my conservatory typing this, a Steam Train has gone by. I can’t see the track from my house  but I can hear it and see the wonderful smoke clouds. No wonder we love the film ‘The Railway Children’.

No photos of the walk this week because no one took any!

but a few from the recci

Tony Fenton took these two pics of me and Graham on our recci day Tuesday. The one of Fred after today says exactly how I feel
