Nine of us gathered at the lay-by on the A69 just before Hayton Lane End.   After crossing the A69 and walking a few yards we disappeared through an overgrown hedge and made our way towards Hayton.   We turned right, then left past the school and church to open Pasture and wonderful views towards the Solway and beyond.   Our route then took us to How Mill and Peru.   See photo below!

We came to a point where we could shorten the walk and cut out Greenwell, or carry on and go through MUCH  Mud and Slurry.   Following a democratic discussion, this doughty Group  chose the Mud and Slurry option.

With much good humour,  chat, great views and fantastic help from Chris Fortune and Ken Halliday, I lead us back to where we started from.   Nice to have Dave (a new member) join us.  Hope he comes again.   Thanks to all.
