Walk & Event Reports

Four of us took the bus from Carlisle to Longtown to walk along the river. When we arrived we were joined by a further four walkers, a nice surprise. Taking the steps down to the waterside by the bridge over the Esk, we walked through parkland before leaving on a track through meadows. We watched the sand martins swoop and wheel around us and admired the swans and cygnets on Wilkins Pool. We circled the pool back on to the riverside, stopping for a break before returning to Longtown where we had a coffee and a snack at The Sycamore Tree café.
