Cummersdale to McDonalds
Leader: Judy Cherrie
Report: Judy Cherrie
Photos: Judy Cherrie and Sharron Murray
Six of us caught the Reay Bus No 75 to Cummersdale. We headed upstream and crossed the footbridge at the Factory, walked over a field, under the railway towards Blackwell. A slight climb and then good views of Carlisle from a different angle. A flock of sheep caught our attention. Sharron quickly Googled and found that they were Zwartles, a rare breed originally from Holland. Just shows. Every day’s a school day!
From there we crossed the Blackwell Road, through The Ridings, lunch break in Hammonds Pond, talking to very cute Passers by, down past Upperby cemetery, over the railway, and coming out at Swallow Hilltop to then cross The London Road to Costa’s! Hoorah.
Thanks all for a lovely day, I enjoyed it. Lockerbie next!
