7 contenders (plus Max and Bella) set off with some reliance on the weather holding good. At lower levels it was good but as we topped Lad Hows we were in cloud and bothered by strong winds. So a decision was made to drop down to Cauldale Hause for lunch and a take on whether we continued the high level up to enjoy Whiteside but we decided to abort and return via Gasgale Gill to avoid the possible strong winds along the ridge. It's sometime since I walked G G and I felt it was way more dangerous than the ridge - (weather omitted) if you want to see just what storm erosion can do to a mountain path go take a look. We enjoyed the experience however and ended the day with refreshments in the Wheatsheaf pub in Lorton. Very many thanks to everyone who attended
