Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

If you’ve never watched Dancing on Ice there were auditions held this morning on and around the small Bassenthwaite hill of Binsey.
17 members played their part in a memorable performance with a number of 10s been awarded. There may be also a number of members who now know what they want from Santa..... and it rhymes with Strippers, some of you, Im sure found them invaluable. Joking aside I don’t think we will do a more challenging 4 mile walk. We were lucky bumping into the local farmer who gave us permission to cross usually private land to shorten the walk slightly as the conditions were very tricky. This gave us quicker access to Binsey where we found there was a slight breeze on the summit. I think it was relief all round getting back down to the cars. It was then onto Crags for what turned out to be an excellent lunch, thanks to Ian and Chrsitine for getting it all sorted. With what this little walk threw at us Im starting to wonder about the News Years day walk around Buttermere. Well done to everyone for the effort today and have a great Christmas.
Regards to All Pete.
