Walk & Event Reports

A superb day to take on the challenge of England’s highest mountain with 21 club members setting out from Seathwaite.

The tops of the fells were clear of cloud and the weather stayed fine as we made the ascent with warm sunshine on the final pull to the summit. As always the summit was busy but this didn’t detract from the magnificent mountain scenery and the sense of achievement, especially felt by those club members who made it to the top for the first time .
We made the challenging descent to Esk Hause with occasional swirls of low cloud filling the valleys and we completed the walk in almost exactly the 8 hours schedule that I outlined in the walk description
