A/B Walk

Yoke Sallows

 7 Miles Grade 2

Leader: Pete Rutland

A joint walk of A and B which resulted in 17 walkers out on the hills today. If that wasn’t enough responsibility for the leader he was put under even more pressure by the Chairman and given the new club walkie talkies to put under test, honestly this is way above my pay grade. The walk progressed as was the plan but the early cloud spoilt the views if not the spirits of the crew. Lunch on the summit of Yoke at 2300 ft was taken whilst we all starred aimlessly at the sights that might have been. ( I didn’t really mind that much as they were great the day I was up there working the walk out).

After lunch it was down to Sallows and Sour Hows where the views improved. It was then back through the holiday park to the cars. After walk refreshments taken at the Kirkstone Inn amongst the ghosts that haunt the place.

Thanks very much to the group that turned out and remained in great cheer. All in all it turned out a pretty good walk and yes John, the radios worked well.( hope you can get them back off Chris)

Hope to see you all on the next one.

Pete.
