Last Minute A Walk

Leader: Janet Nicholson

Report & Photos by

Martina Plunkett

Due to the A walk being cancelled Janet (Nicholson), Kathryn (Kidd) and myself took to the Lakes. Janet, armed with a map, led the walk.

The walk to Louisa Antimony Mine was tempting but we decided last minute for the Lakes to tick off some Wainwright's.

It was hard going up Helvellyn due to the heat but a nice cooling breeze awaited us on top. Then across to Lower Man, Whiteside and Raise. Then taking the sticks passs path to the left down,  across the foot bridge at Sty Beck Fall, walking through a "field" of very high fern below White Crags. Cooling down with a well earned drink at the King's Head Thirlspot.

Janet did a fantastic job. I believe she could be a new leader for the group.
