For this first opportunity for club members to explore the Almorness Peninsula 19 walkers endured the early start, ignored the thunder storm warnings and descended on Palnackie. This walk offered a bit of everything, history, woodland trails, beaches, and do it yourself footpaths.  Stunning views over Rough Firth and Auchencairn Bay were appreciated from the top of the Moyl where – in sunshine- we enjoyed our lunch.

Our return path through woodland ventured too close for comfort for a nest of wasps and a quarter of the group suffered multiple stings with the super hero of the day Ken surviving 6!!!

We ended our day in the Olive Tree café in Dalbeattie where alfresco refreshments were enjoyed by all.

Feedback suggested worth adding to the programme again in the future.
