16 walkers enjoyed a fine ramble to Smardale making the most of the fine weather
The viaduct itself is still closed to walkers but the narrow valley path gave us a close up view of the architecture and we enjoyed the panorama of Howgills and Pennine hills while making the crossing of Smardale fell.
liquid refreshments were enjoyed at the Black Bull in Ravenstonedale village at the end of a a great day’s walk. Thanks to everyone who came along and a safe return journey to Brenda- hope we see you again next year
