Walk & Event Reports

Fifteen Members pitching up today for this annual search for  Martindale Deer. The long stretch up the ridge of Beda was completed with only spotting a few deer across the valley on Place Fell. A change of plan saw us take in the twin tops of Angle Tarn Pikes instead of Rest Dodd. We were rewarded with some great views down to Brothers Water and across Angle Tarn.
After going down to the tarn we headed down behind Heck Crag where we were almost immediately rewarded with some brilliant views of a large group of deer on the ridge of Heck Crag. I wouldn’t normally comment on my pics but i love the one of the deer playing peekaboo behind the Stag. This was one of the better sightings of the deer at close quarters for some years and consequently some reasonable pics. We then headed down the long track to eventually join the road and on back to the cars.
The day was ended in good style at the Book Shop Cafe in Pooley Bridge, a lovely cafe worth the visit. Thanks to the gang who turned up and I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did, see you all soon
