Another beautiful summer day with 21 walkers making the most of it. Nice to see some familiar faces. A familiar walk as well, this being the third time I've led this walk which crosses the river South Tyne then heads up onto open moorland following the Pennine Way to Knarsdale.

Lunch taken in St Jude's churchyard the final resting place of a popular 1930's north east rambler and writer Fred  Wells known as Vagabond .
A variation to previous walks led us through the pretty hamlet of Eals before crossing the river again to pick up the South Tyne rail trail with a crossing of the always impressive Lambley Viaduct. Thanks to everyone who came along.
