Thanks to everyone who joined us on the C walk including “guest” Audrey
The eight  of us enjoyed a muddy climb to the top of Slate Fell although it was rather chilly and we were grateful for the shelter of the quarries close to the summit. The views over to the Lowewater and Buttermere fells were splendid but we were glad to make the descent to join the Cockermouth to Keswick railway path just as the promised afternoon rain arrived..
Along the way we walked next to the  river Cocker back into the town centre in plenty of time to find refreshments
