A good turnout on the coach today for an excursion to the upper Tees valley with Thirteen walkers completing a ten mile leg of the Pennine Way
Starting from Langdon Beck we crossed the Tees several times before settling on the right hand bank heading for High Force which was an impressive sight with the river almost in full spate. Along the way we came across a friendly group of ramblers from Durham and also crossed paths with the b group.
After testing the strength of the Wynch chain bridge below the equally impressive Low Force the weather took a definite turn for the worse and we walked for an hour or so in torrential rain. The clouds lifted for the final half mile of the walk and we arrived in Middleton-in Teesdale in time for refreshments in the excellent “Teespot” cafe. A great day with several new faces.
Thanks to everyone who joined the walk
