.Although we had a slight hiccup when we left the coach at the wrong layby, with a little bit of help from Peter, we were soon on our way. We walked down Greenshaw Plain and through Baddox Woods to pick up the planned walk. The weather was beautiful although cold to start and we enjoyed ambling along in the sunshine towards the meeting of the North and South Tyne. Lunch was eaten on a sandy beach by the river before following the railway to the town, where we visited the Abbey church before a coffee at the café.
