Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

Very bright and breezy day approaching  some familiar fells from a less familiar side. There was no sign of any Ospreys on Cogra Moss but fine views over the Solway and as we climbed higher, across the sea  to the Isle of Man. The top of Blake Fell was very windy but  a short way off the summit we enjoyed  lunch in warm sunshine. We made good time crossing Gavel Fell with the going underfoot bent much drier than usual. We made a tricky crossing of a barbed wire topped fence before descending to Ennerdale lakeside through fields  full of spring

Iambs. An excellent ramble in good company as always.
