10 of us, including new member Rebecca, and 2 dogs, Archie and Max, started out from Cows Bridge near Hartsop, not sure what the days weather would bring. The first part of the first ridge to Middle Dodd, was quite strenuous. I was told, jokingly I hope, that on the walk description, I should have said 'VERY' steep and not 'a bit' steep. However, all persevered and we reached Red Screes for lunch, finding a sheltered spot. At this point, the vis. was not brilliant. We started down then up to Little Hart Crag and then on to High Hartsop Dodd and then a 'steep' downhill on to the level walk out alongside Brothers Water.
All in all considering the weather reports, everybody seemed to enjoy it and, weather wise, some slight rain at times, also a bit windy at times and very waterlogged underfoot Afterwards,we went to the Patterdale Hotel for refreshments.
Well done to Peter Rutland, 1st A walk for approx 4 months and sailed through it
