9 members were out on the A walk and set off from Little Town to do the Robinson Round in good weather. However the higher we climbed up Scope End the breezier it got until in the end it became a howling gale and made walking difficult and unpleasant.Taking refuge for lunch in the wall shelter on Hindscarth we discussed the prospects of facing the wind to get onto Robinson and more importantly the dangers of descending the ridge in such conditions as there is some exposure even in good weather. It was unanimously decided to turn our backs to the wind and return instead over Dale Head then down Newlands Valley which, although still windy held no inherent danger. The walk lost nothing in doing so and - it was still an excellent high level walk with good clear views enjoyed by all. Thanks to everyone who came.
