With the forecast promising a definite soaking and worse I anticipated being back in bed by 09.30. with a no show. But they slowly trickled in at the Sands until there was healthy group of 10. So off we set to Loweswater. The weather looked very similar to our last attempt at doing these hills where it had to be aborted from Gavel Fell. But as we set off from Maggies Bridge it wasn’t that bad and good progress was made. The three summits of Gavel Fell, Blake Fell and Burnbank Fell were all conquered. There were a couple of heavy showers but nothing to put the happy group off. It was a quick lunch on Blake Fell as soon as we sat down the rain came. The views remained constant all day and in the end I think it was a pretty good hike.

Back to the cars along the path above Loweswater then off to Moota on the way back  for tea and buns. Ive never seen such a big smile until Andy realised that Moota served Beer, tea and coffee not being words in his vocabulary. So a happy ending to the day for all. A big thank you to all the guys who made the effort to get out when it might of been easier to stay home.
