Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

Eight of us alighted  the coach at Staveley to enjoy a beautiful sunny day. We joined the Dales Way for part of our journey along picturesque paths, through woodland, across grassy fields and after successfully crossing a couple of racetrack type highways, stopped off for a short coffee break. Continuing on, we enjoyed clear views of the Lake District Fells, perhaps from an angle not seen by us that often. Lunch was taken at the summit of Cunswick Scar, a popular spot for walkers from Kendal it seems. Next it was onto Scout Scar and time taken to absorb the extensive views.  A couple of eagle-eyed participants of the walk spotted one of those stone circle thingies and lots of fun was had taking photos from every angle. Down into Kendal we met up with the Walk 2 party and enjoyed refreshments seated outside in the still warm sunshine.

Thank you Neil for a most enjoyable walk in an area not often explored by the club.
