Six for today’s walk, not a great surprise as the forecast wasn’t great. It was quite chilly and windy as we set of on the gradual ascent of Lowthwaite. I thought at first we had a new walker, out for their first walk, I was wrong. It was Bernard, a long time member of the club. A new slimmed down version and to add to the confusion wearing a new designer walking jacket to match his new figure. Gone was the old green wax jacket he’s always sported. I would imagine he required an anaesthetic to have it removed. Well done Bernard, you could be in for two awards, Slimmer of the Year and Britain's Best Dressed Man. We reached the summit of Sale Fell but unfortunately by the time we did I was not feeling very well at all. I don’t think I’ve fully recovered from my illness on the club holiday. We made our way down to Eskin, where we had lunch and the others being very sympathetic to my plight agreed to give Ling Fell a miss and start back on the return leg of the walk. I have a feeling some of them were quite pleased. We arrived back at the cars and headed off to the Craggs for coffee. A lovely walk and very surprisingly not a drop of rain. Thanks to everyone for their company and their sympathy.
