B Walk

Long Meg - Lacy Caves

Leader: Christine Milton

Report & Photos by Christine Milton

A beautiful sunny day was the reward for the 14 (including Ben the Spaniel), participants of today’s walk. The countryside really did seem to be at its best as we enjoyed bluebells, lambs, swallows, fresh green fields and babbling streams. After walking mostly through meadowland we took a break at Addingham Church before moving on to make the aquaintance of Long Meg and her daughters. A welcome lunch stop was taken next to the stream opposite Little Salked Mill where a number of ice creams were consumed. Following the river we headed back to Lazonby visiting Lacy’s caves on the way. Tasty treats and quick service at The Pot Place was a good end to the day. Thank you to everyone who came along  - great company as always
