Carlisle & District Rambling & Fellwalking Club

Walk & Event Reports

A good group out for one of the more difficult challenges the Lakes has to offer the Hill Walker. We were quickly at the start of the Sharp Edge route where most elected to give it a go. The weather was kind, it was dry and just a little wind and most didn’t have time to think about the cold. Everyone progressed well even though we were hampered a bit by someones spaniel running around getting under peoples feet. I think some folk must be thick not considering putting their dog on a lead if they bring it. Anyway with a bit of help and encouragement everyone got across the 'usual place' and completed the scramble. Well done to all, in particular those doing it for the first time.
Lunch on the summit of Blencathra before the walk down over Blease Fell to the Blencathra Centre. It wasn’t long before we were on the old railway line and back in Keswick. Thanks to all for coming on the walk and again well done, a little tick in the box for all Hill Walkers.

Regards Pete
