Walk & Event Reports

On arriving at Grasmere, it seemed that the earlier start was warranted as parking was doable but not easy. 16 of us (that included 3 gorgeous dogs), set off along the Coffin Route, enjoying a short break with views over Rydal Water. It was then a bit of a haul up to Nab Scar with some discussion as to the exact Wainwright top, but in the end it was decided none of us were really that concerned anyway haha. Another 30 minutes walking took us to Heron Pike & the lunch stop. Great Rigg was the next venue with a couple of members electing to wait for the remainder of the group on the return path which lead to Stone Arthur and onward to Grasmere. Refreshments were taken in the super surroundings of the garden at the Swan where the sun came out & was a fitting end to the day. Great to get a fine, clear day at long last, shared with wonderful company. Many thanks to everyone who joined me and lovely to see a couple of members who’ve not made it out recently.
