A Walk

Western Kentmere Fells

Leader: Pete Rutland

Report & Photos by Pete Rutland

A good group of 16 setting off from the far end of Kirkstone Pass at Troutbeck. A steady climb up the Garbon Road track and then onto Yoke. It was obvious the wind was going to come into play as we progressed along the hill tops so we had a quick cuppa before going further. We didn’t hang about on Ill Bell or Froswick, just long enough for a few pics, the wind was very strong at times so care was needed but we got down to an area giving a little shelter for a late lunch.

It was then a long pleasant walk all the way down the valley. Brief stop for shots of Ginger Wine and then back to the holiday park for tea in the pub. A challenging walk at times but some great views. Thanks to a large group turning up which makes it all worthwhile. See you next time.
