Walk & Event Reports

17 out on todays walk, so thanks to you all for coming out. Its possible some mist the boat at the Sands so I apologise for this. I had to leave at 08.50 as they were closing the roads and I would have not been able to get out once they had. We started from Hallin Fell and were soon on the slopes of Place Fell. Intermittent rain was a pest, waterproofs on, waterproofs off but once we hit the summit for lunch the clouds parted, the rain pretty much stopped and as always the sun shone on my walk. There were some great views from the Pikes before we headed over to Heck Crag. A few deer about as we came down and the party got fragmented. Those of us at the back were blessed with some great views of a couple of Stags and a lot more deer. after spending some time watching them it was the very long walk down the valley back to cars. A glum start to the day but it ended in bright sunshine and very warm for the first of October. See you all next time.
