Walk & Event Reports

09.00 on Sunday morning 5 adventurers set off towards Seathwaite Farm on the B walk.  With clear blue  skies and Great End towering in the distance it became evident early on that the B walk was going to become an A walk. We headed up the valley to Stockley Bridge before steadily climbing upwards towards Sprinkling Tarn. We took the path away from our original destination and climbed higher to reach a col where had a banana break before heading upwards towards Broad Crag and at the footpath junction took right hand path and the short climb up onto the summit of Great End at 910m. Lunch was had here with panoramic views from Great and Green Gable to our left, Allan Crags and Glaramara to our front with Windermere and Langdale Pikes, Esk Pike and Broad Crag to our right and views of Scaffell Pike behind us. We then retraced our steps and continued on the footpath towards Styhead Tarn.  A slight deviation off to Seathwaite Fell to bag the 2nd Wainwright of the day before continuing to the Tarn with views across to the Corridor Route of Scaffell Pike and down the Wasdale Valley.  We then headed down the valley back to Stockley Bridge and back to the cars.  A great day was had by all. We walked further than originally stated and climbed higher but 5 went up and 5 came back down all still standing and smiling so all good.
