Just shy of forty walkers on the coach today enjoyed a fine outing to a very sunny Melrose.
After a slightly gloomy start to the day the weather improved and made for a great day in an area of the Borders new to many.
The A group made the most of the cool start to the day to make the steep climb to the summit of the Eildons, spotting deer and hares along the way. The B group made their way through the estate of Abbotsford House enjoying lunch by a remote loch and descending in warm sunshine to rejoin the river Tweed into the centre of Melrose. The C group made the most of a beautiful day with a leisurely walk mostly alongside the river from Abbotsford to Melrose Abbey .
Thanks to the three walk leaders and to everyone who came along.
