9 of us set off from snowy Carlisle for Derwentwater and on the way it looked like the walk leader had lost his senses with snow blowing across the M6, so you can imagine the groups surprise when we got to Keswick to bright blue skies and little to no snow.

After parking we set off with plenty of time to take in the sights and take photos part way round some suggested a slight detour to Grange for refreshments but the walk leader persuaded the mutineers otherwise but to show he wasn't completely heartless took them to Mary Mount so they got to have tea and coffee.

Before we all settled in for the afternoon in the warmth it was back into the cold and onto the NT car park for lunch which was shortened due to the bitingly cold wind, after lunch swift progress was made back to Keswick with a slight detour to the '100 year old stone' placed on the lakeshore by the National Trust, thanks to Christine for the explanation, some of the group commented that they had walked round the lake many times and never seen this.

Once back in Keswick further refreshments were taken at Brysons café, thanks to all who came along.
