.
A good group of 17 out on the walk today. After the pull up Gatescarth Pass and Branstree everyone could relax and enjoy the rest of the walk on easy terrain. With a bit of cloud cover and a light breeze this made the walking very pleasant. A leisurely lunch was taken on Selside Pike. A small number of the group practised their map reading and compass work which looks like we will have an influx of new leaders with polished skills, good on ya.
Some great views coming down the Coffin road. Nothing spectacular to report other than a really enjoyable walk. At the head of Mardale MRT had set up a cafe to raise funds. This was greatly supported by the group at the end of the walk buying teas, coffees and cake. Very handy as after walk refreshments very ltd in this are. Hope everyone enjoyed the walk and hope to see you next time.
